Kerman carpets are one of the traditional classifications of Persian carpets. They are named after both a city and province in south central Iran. It has been a major center for the production of high quality carpets since the fifteenth century. In the eighteenth century, they were finest Persian carpets, partly because of the quality of the wool known as Carmania wool. Kerman carpets are celebrated as being among the best. They are prized for many reasons, from their designs, broad pallet, their natural dyes and fibers, their strength, resistance and the expert color combination. Of course, not two rugs are the same, each one is always unique. Colors prepared for the rugs are gentle and light, like amber, oink, milky and blue-gray. Kerman antique carpets are so elegant and sumptuous, they have a motif border surrounded by margins and minor and narrow lines. Rugs from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries are known by their allover pattern of flowers and oversized palmettos with vases placed throughout the field. Another thing that makes them unique is their fine weave and elegant classy design of allover and central medallion formats. Even though in some places there has been a decline in the art of carpet weaving, the traditions have been revived. They have reintroduced the tribal patterns and combined them with modern and innovative designs. These rugs have been regarded as objects of high artistic value and prestige since they were first mentioned by ancient Greek writers, until today.
The background color is green. It has a floral pink border all around and pink and red flowers all over the rug. Its simplicity gives it a unique and elegant look. It is a vintage yet contemporary look. It would make a great addition to any room.
