This vintage masterpiece is truly one of a kind. It is a handwoven textile made by many ethnic groups from Afghan refugees in Pakistan, to Turk-men. These rugs are made entirely on a loom. The wool is often woven through warp strings or knotted by hand on a warp string to weave the pattern. At no point are machines used. Each rug is made be the work-mans artistic views. Usually it takes a group of 4-5 people to create the knots in a single rug. They are made with high-quality wool meant to be long-lasting. All natural dyes are used for every color we see. This gives it a luminous glow. They go along perfectly with the wool, as they are both designed to last many years.

Even though these rugs are often used as prayer rugs, they can be used for decorative purposes as well. They never go out of style. Their very vintage with a contemporary look.

This rug has many colors that interact beautifully together. We could say that the main or base color is pink. It also has red, black, blue and a bit of ivory. On both ends of the rugs there is a small ivory fringe and eleven stripes of various colors. All rounds the rug is a pyramid like shape of black, ivory and a chestnut red. There are different shapes and patterns used throughout the rug. One of those designs is the Bukhara or octagonal elephants foot. This is very traditional and typical shape reflecting on their nomadic lifestyle. Many motifs are used to create an overall look and masterpiece instead of using just one shape. They often have deeper meaning than it being just a picture. Some motifs symbolize motherhood and others are viewed as protections to their families. This shows us how the weavers really put their imagination and effort into each and every rug.
